Cyber/Internet cafes in my way are the den of Hackers....lol....so,watch out!!!.When you access your private data from public computer then there are (40-45)% chances of losing your password. In public computer your security is at threat because you may not be knowing what programs are installed in it,there comes the real threat because there are chances that RATS or Keylogger may be installed. Here i have come up with few security tips which you can follow to stay safe while using public computers.
1.If there is Mozills Firefox go with it rather using IE.Before browsing any thing follow the path as show. Tools-->Options-->Privacy.Now do as show in the image below.
In IE clear all the history or temporary files before closing the browser. This can be done from the settings of IE.
2.There are chances of Keylogger(Hardware/Software) being installed, you can avoid it by using a Virtual keyboard that too a portable one.Lets see how you can do that.
3.Always be alert while using public PC if you are not sitting behind a close door because you can be a victim of "Shoulder Surfing",as the name suggest here the Hacker may look over your shoulder as you type in your password.
4.If you are unable to use step 2. then while typing in your password in public computers do not type in your password continuously,by that i mean if your password is "compufreaks" then first type "com" then type some random letter "swiuncdjdotud" anywhere else again come back to the password field and type in the rest letters "pufreaks".By doing that the keylogger will log your password as "comswiuncdjdotudpufreaks" and you can easily fool the hacker.
5.Always type the url of the page you want to visit never go with bookmarks they could be Phishing trap for you. After your work is done logout from your account because if you donot do this then the person using that same computer after you may get access to you account so be careful.

Yeah. Sometimes it’s risky to use PC at CyberCafe because there is potential for others to know about our personal information such as ID and Password.
Thanks for the tips. We have to be aware before we regret.
